This feature class represents the locations of cemeteries throughout Washington County. It is used for planning, land‑records management, veteran‑services workflows, emergency response, and community mapping.
<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>The Cemetery feature class, represented as points, was originally compiled from authoritative datasets maintained by the Veterans Service Office and the Washington County Historical Society. It includes public, private, and religious cemeteries. The dataset intentionally excludes private family burial plots in most public facing maps. This layer is used in multiple county applications, including the Veterans Services memorial mapping and sheriff/emergency reference applications. Attributes identify cemetery name and status. The dataset is maintained as needed, with edits incorporated when verified updates originate from local government, Veteran Services, or other authoritative sources.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
